Corgi Gift Set 14 Giant 'DAKTARI' Set. Spun wheels version. Near mint plus- very near mint/boxed (wear). Scarce. From a childhood collection in Central Europe.
Notes
This is a scarce Gift Set issued between 1969-73. One owner from new.
This set comprises:
1) Corgi 438 Land Rover, with spun wheels. Includes Dr. Marsh Tracy (lacks stethoscope), Judy The Chimp and tiger. Complete ‘Wameru Sub District’ label. Very near mint (couple of small marks).
2) Corgi 503 Bedford Giraffe Transporter, spun wheels. Both wing mirrors (includes reflective pieces) and two giraffes. Complete and bright paper labels. Couple of minor marks away from mint.
3) Corgi 483 Dodge Tipper Truck ‘Kew Fargo’, with spun wheels. Complete labels throughout. Minor grubbiness to the door labels (may be possible to carefully clean). Two elephants. Near mint plus (few little marks at bonnet front edge).
No Paula figure now but Clarence The Lion (with spectacles) is still present!
All contents are housed in a close to perfect polystyrene inner. Very fresh-looking. Very small portion missing (minor!).
The blue and yellow card and cellophane outer box is clean, fresh and strongly-coloured. Couple of small (repaired) tears to the card immediately where it joins the cellophane. Minor handling wear besides. The cellophane is original but has a large split. Corgi Club Membership Form is included. No graffiti.
A scarce find.
