D986
Dinky 986 Mighty Antar Low Loader with Propeller. Near mint plus/boxed. Scarce issue with window glazing and 'Scimitar' label on propellor. From The Suffolk Collection.
Notes
A desirable Dinky commercial model – and getting harder to find these days!
In gleaming and complete condition with a red prime mover (no sunfading here!), pale grey trailer and window glazing. Complete with the original bronze-coloured plastic propeller with ‘Scimitar’ label (couple of tiny nicks) and band on the brown plastic pallet. An impressive model on display, with a wonderfully glossy finish.
Occasional very minor mark if you look closely enough and most rigorous inspection reveals a few little dabs of extra well-matched red paint. None of the expected marks head-on. It is clear that this item has been rarely and carefully handled and of course, kept out of the sunlight!
The striped Supertoys box with large italicised DINKY SUPERTOYS print is bright and clean with no seam splits. Original light blue lower packing piece is present as well as a plain, small buff card packing piece.
Small puncture in the lid has pressed back into place. Only minor edge rubbing and a little handwritten date inside the lid (3-11-1962!).
This scarce version with windows was made toward the end of the run (1959-61).
