C246
Corgi 246 Chrysler Imperial. Rare 'Kingfisher blue' colour finish. Very near mint/boxed with golf clubs. One of the best surviving examples. From a small collection of exciting, high quality, one owner from new models.
Notes
Issued between 1965-68, in various colour finishes, this attractive American car has the rarest colour finish i.e. kingfisher blue – this is just about the nicest example we have seen in this distinctive shade, and upon first glance looks mint. This particular colour finish seems to have been especially difficult for Corgi – and is nearly always flaky. This example is notably free of any flakiness! With a fine sheen, this is surely one of the best examples you will ever see.
Opening bonnet reveals a detailed engine. Opening boot still has the little set of golf clubs inside!
It comes complete with both seated figures.
Just a couple of negligible dots away from mint! Tiny yellowish light stain on the rear seats which may be possible to remove with careful cleaning.
The pictorial box is clean, bright, crisp and complete, with a pleasing silky finish (showing minimal handling). Little corner crumple to an end flap and a thin strip of surface loss at an end flap seam. Another tiny one at the other large end flap.
Period price label still in place. No tears or graffiti.
An exceptional item, rare to come to the market place.
