D132
Dinky 132 Ford 40-RV. Chilean white version. Near mint/in generic Chilean card box! The first time these models, hitherto largely unknown, have come to the market place.
Notes
Bringing into focus a new seam of Dinky export, we are thrilled to be able to offer these remarkable models for sale. Issued in extremely low numbers at the time, they were assembled and painted in Arica, a duty-free city on the Northern tip of Chile. These exceptionally rare models were discovered by a Dinky collector on a trip to South America. The castings were made in the U.K. and then assembled and painted in Chile. It appears that if the British version came in a perspex box, a numbered/generic Chilean card box was used, otherwise the model came in a standard British card box.
The British issue is most commonly found in silver, whereas this Chilean version is finished in crisp white, including the headlight recesses and beneath the bonnet.Left hand drive and no labels. Silver engine at rear. Spoked wheels. Original, well-shaped treaded tyres. Black base. Chilean rivets.
A few little chips (mostly at the front edge).
Presented in the authentic ?ARMADO EN ARICA? (Made in Arica) Chilean issue card box with red DINKY TOYS print. Complete, with minor wear.
Realistically, we do not expect ever to see another one!
