D512
Dinky 512 Guy Flat Truck. Excellent/boxed. Rarest version in dark brown and green. From a collection in Berlin.
Notes
Such a scarce 1st type issue (1947-48) in this colour, with its rear axle located in tin clips, and no triangular lugs at side of the number plate. It has a lustrous brown cab and chassis, mid-green back and wheels. Small hook. Bolt fixing and baseplate are shiny and rust-free (minor ‘spidering’). Bright silver radiator and lights. Complete with spare wheel. Original, smooth tyres run well.
A light scattering of little marks at some raised edges/exposed points. The green bed has a few strokes of paler green.
The correct early buff box is complete, feeling sturdy and crisp. No splits or graffiti. Paper label is intact with no edge nibbles. Colours are vivid although the paper has become rather grubby now. Rusty staples. Faint ‘B’ stamp (brownish print) at lid end (so correct version for this box).
