C474
Corgi 474 Musical Wall's Ice Cream Van. Near mint plus/boxed. With WORKING CHIMES. Card stand, unapplied sticker sheet, Instructions and wrap-around card. From The Cheshire Collection.
Notes
One of the most eagerly sought-after Corgi models, especially with fully working chimes!
The Ford Thames Van has a shining blue and cream finish with colourful awning and decorative trimmings, sliding windows and notably when you turn the handle the chimes play a tune (5 notes). Bright plated fittings and complete ’Wall’s’ transfers on both sides.
Note the windows are rather ‘misted’ now (common fault). Little casting mark on the roof.
Full sheet of the original unapplied labels and Instructions are still present.
Nice to see that this example comes with the crisp and bright colourful card stand, and the wrap-around card packing piece, too. Corgi Club Membership Form is included too.
The decorative card box is very complete and bright. A little handling wear/grubbiness and a tiny end flap tear. Period pencilled prices at an end flap (in both ‘old’ and ‘new decimal’ money).
A truly nostalgic piece!
