D174
Dinky 174 Ford Mercury Cougar. Very near mint/boxed. Metallic blue. From a most knowledgeable and enthusiastic collector in South London.
Notes
A bright metallic blue finish on this classic American car issued between 1969-72.
Opening doors, detailed deep orange-yellow interior with tipping seats, number plates at front and rear – and don’t forget the retractable aerial (notably intact), and operated by means of a lever on the silver baseplate (advise to leave well alone however, since it is by raising and lowering it that the chrome finish rubs off and often the aerial can snap off too). Silver-coloured cast wheels.
Hard to find a mark. If you are looking to fault it, you could note a very small area of casting roughness on the bonnet and another on a front wheel arch.
The pictorial card box is complete, bright and clean. A little handling wear at end flaps at one end and a small semi-puncture caused by the bumpers of the model. No graffiti.
