D941
Dinky 941 Foden 14-Ton Tanker "Mobilgas". Near mint plus/boxed, with card packing piece. From 1954.
Notes
This eye-catching Dinky commercial was made during 1953-56 and is a sought-after Dinky model. In close to mint condition, this Foden Tanker has retained its colour vibrancy and notably the transfers are close t complete too. Occasional pinprick mark/tiny nick. 2nd type cab, black ladder and black filler caps. Shiny metal parts generally (little tarnishing to the spare wheel fixing). Supple, original black treaded tyres.
Occasional negligible mark to the paint finish and note that under minute scrutiny, three very subtle little retouches (wheel arches) were found. 20 mph label still in place. Very small, light dent to the rear of the tank.
The colourful, striped ‘DINKY TOYS’ box is clean and complete. Little surface paper split to the front edge of the lid and another at the lid end. Minor age wear besides. Box base is an uniform deep blue (includes the portion exposed to light too). Tarnishing to the staples. No graffiti. Dated 1954 from the factory stamp inside the box lid. Nice to see that this example includes the little card packing piece too.
