C261
Corgi 261 James Bond's Aston Martin D.B.5. Gold issue. Very near mint/boxed. 1st issue style box. From a beautiful, single-owner collection, some 25 years in the making.
Notes
This collector wanted only the best examples in his collection ? always a discerning buyer of the finest examples he could find. After over 25 years, he has now decided to part with items from his own extensive collection.
This is one of them.
One of the most popular Corgi models ever, this is an early issue, released at the start of the production run (1965-69) Please see our Blog on Corgi 261 models:

This James Bond Aston Martin is in all original condition with none of the reproduction accessories, rife with this issue.
The car is fully functioning, complete with both figures. Looking unused and barely handled, this example has a virtually flawless, all original gold finish:
Roof closes flush. Suspension is fine on all four bright, spoked wheels. Fine tread original tyres are supple with no flat spots.
If you want to fault it and peer at it minutely, you may note two faint marks on the roof (one may clean off). Another tiny grubby mark at the passenger door. Couple of raised casting dots on the bonnet (being extra-fussy here).
The 1st issue plinth (i.e. with no arrow on the red section where the model is placed) is vividly-coloured, clean, complete and crisp. A couple of wheel slot tears caused by movement of the car in the box.
The Instruction Packet has been opened carefully and is complete with all accessories namely:
Secret Instructions Leaflet (detail the retractable machine guns, opening roof and ejector seat, rear bullet screen and telescopic over-riders – all have been tested and work perfectly).
The unapplied 007 badge
The spare villain.
The 1st issue outer box is most impressive with very vivid deep colours and a lovely silky feel to the barely handled card. Note that since it is 1st issue, there is no shading detail around the lettering ASTON MARTIN DB5 on the box face and no thick black border around the JAMES BOND’S lettering, too.
Tiny wear only. Period penned pricing at an end flap.
A piece of Corgi history, a sound investment, and a nostalgic treat which is hard to resist!
