Notes

This attractive Gift Set was inspired by the t.v. show ‘The Avengers’ and is in very close to perfect condition, issued between 1966-69.
It comprises:
1) John Steed’s Bentley in red and black finish and includes the figure of John Steed at the wheel. Faint gold tint to the spoked wheels (various versions exist), and well-shaped original tyres.

Occasional little mark to the black running boards. Minute scrutiny reveals that one of the tiny lugs at the top edge of the windscreen is missing now (not immediately obvious).

2) Emma Peel’s Lotus Elan S2 is in bright, white finish. Exceptional, virtually mint condition. Suspension on shaped spun wheels. Supple, well-shaped original tyres. Original figure of Emma Peel.

This set comes with three plastic umbrellas! These are notably the originals – so often they can go astray, particularly bearing in mind how small they are and how they were never stored in a packet but merely slotted into holes on the plinth. So many that we see have (pretty decent) replacements but they do lack the fine detailing of the originals. These originals have the furling details to the ‘rolled-up’ cloth part of the umbrella and delicate details on the handle, fine point at the base. Little details perhaps but really nice to see!
Inner card plinth is in excellent condition with bright graphics on crisp card. No wheel slot tears, just minor age wear. Notably both the pull tabs at the ends are present and intact (often torn off or missing). Original card piece slotted into the base section supports the models on the plinth and so protects the wheels slots from tearing.

Outer box is complete, clean and strongly-coloured, with a crisp feel. Looks very fresh indeed!

Minor age/handling wear but no graffiti. Tiny tear to one small end flap.
Comes complete with the card packing piece and Corgi Club Membership Form.
