N238
Nicky/Dinky Toys 238 Jaguar D Type. Light blue issue. Very near mint/boxed. Scarce. From The Cheshire Collection.
Notes
Sought after models that are so difficult to find in good condition! Dinky dies were sold to the Indian Firm S. Kumar & Co. trading as Atamco. (1968-70). Often known as Indian-Dinky toys, the finish was poor in comparison.
What a find! This light blue Jaguar D Type model has survived very well indeed. Intact shiny silver racing numbers (the marks are mere reflection in the pictures). Complete with driver, and steering wheel. Shiny base generally (light rubbing in places). One-piece plastic wheel/tyres.
Little rubbing to the paint finish at the rear. Highlights in silver and gold – original.
The colourful correct box (ATAMCO P LTD. Calcutta) has fared better than most. Little box puncture has pressed back into place. Minor wear besides. Penned 14/75 on box underside.
