D944
Dinky 944 Shell-B.P. Fuel Tanker. Near mint plus/boxed. Scarce late issue with a WHITE chassis in end flap box. From 'The New European' Collection.
Notes
Issued between 1963-70, this fine Dinky Supertoys model was issued towards the end of the production run. In original condition, complete with all “SHELL” and “B.P.” labels on both sides and rear. Some minor age transparency to the labels but no parts missing.
Bright white and yellow cab and body, white chassis, and grey plastic hubs. So often, the white plastic tank becomes discoloured and yellowed over time – happy to say that this example is a very bright and fresh white colour. Complete with tow hook and spare wheel still affixed.
In all original condition.
Occasional negligible mark and a small area of ‘blistered’ paint at the front bumper.
The end flap pictorial box is the more unusual box presentation, since this model is usually found in the lift-off lid box. This example was produced toward the end of the production run.
So easily damaged since these boxes are comparatively flimsy, so it is not surprising that this example has some handling wear/rubbing and a small storage puncture. Complete with all end flaps. Vivid colours. No graffiti.
