Notes

Bringing into focus a new seam of Dinky export, we are thrilled to be able to offer these remarkable models for sale. Issued in extremely low numbers at the time, they were assembled and painted in Arica, a duty-free city on the Northern tip of Chile. These exceptionally rare models were discovered by a Dinky collector on a trip to South America. The castings were made in the U.K. and then assembled and painted in Chile. It appears that if the British version came in a perspex box, a numbered/generic Chilean card box was used, otherwise the model came in a standard British card box.

This Chilean BRM model is finished in a slightly deeper shade of green compared with the standard British issue. Note too that this version has racing number ‘36’ paper labels (British issue has no. 7). Standard issue has a silvered engine detail – whilst the Chilean version is body-coloured.

Minor rub to the driver’s silver racing helmet, but that’s about it.
