D194
Dinky 194 Bentley Coupe. Rare SOUTH AFRICAN issue in CREAM. Very near mint/boxed (wear). From a substantial collection in Northern Europe.
Notes
Unfinished models were exported to South Africa from 1966. They were sent as castings and painted and assembled there, largely as a way of getting around the laws prohibiting export of finished goods to South Africa at this time. All housed in Dinky boxes with some Afrikaans text and of course most importantly the Arthur E.Harris print on the box.
Finished in an attractive gleaming deep cream with red seating, driver. Shiny spun wheels, bright chrome, gloss base (tiny wear), South African rivets, and white, fine tread tyres.
Mere negligible mark or two if you peer most minutely.
The correct Arthur E. Harris Dinky box is rather worn now with rubbing and looking sunfaded in places. All 3 end flaps at one end are from a standard Dinky 194 box.
Wear besides.
One of the rarest Dinky models.
