Notes

This attractive Gift Set was inspired by the t.v. show ‘The Avengers’ and is in close to perfect condition, issued between 1966-69.
It comprises:
1) John Steed’s Bentley in red and black finish, complete with all parts, and including the figure of John Steed at the wheel. Very near mint condition. Fine original tyres.

A couple of very small marks to the black running boards.

2) Emma Peel’s Lotus Elan S2 is in bright, white finish. Near mint, original condition with a few small marks at some exposed edges. Suspension on shaped spun wheels. Fine original tyres. Original figure of Emma Peel.
This set comes with three plastic umbrellas! These are notably the originals – so often they can go astray, particularly bearing in mind how small they are and how they were never stored in a packet but merely slotted into holes on the plinth. So many that we see have (pretty decent) replacements but they do lack the fine detailing of the originals. These originals have the furling details to the ‘rolled-up’ cloth part of the umbrella and delicate details on the handle, fine point at the base. Little details perhaps but really nice to see!
Inner card plinth continues the theme with bright graphics on crisp card. Tear at a wheel slot wheel slot tears and a coupe of light surface marks besides. Notably both the pull tabs at the ends are present and intact (often torn off or missing).

Outer box is complete and bright with quite a crisp feel. Minor age/storage wear including a little ruffling at end flap corners etc. Pen mark at an end flap. Tiny fleck of surface loss on one side.
