D503
Dinky 503 Foden Flat Truck with Tailboard. 1st type two tone green. Very scarce. Near mint/boxed. An authentic example with one owner from new.
Notes
The first we have handled in a long time – we are delighted to offer for sale this rare 1st type Dinky Foden Tailboard model from 1947- early 1948. A scarce first type Foden with a deep green 1st type cab and chassis with a paler back, flash and hubs. An authentic example with one owner from new, this pleasing example has none of the retouching or repainting that can often plague these valuable early Dinky commercial trucks.
A beauty that has survived really well with a smart lustre and fine original radial tyres.
Tarnishing at the bolt fixing as you might expect. Little marks in some of the usual places e.g. wheel arches and some tailboard edges. Tiny mark or two on the cab roof. Small scratch on the tailboard.
Correct that this early example has a small tow hook. No tank slits or chain post bosses on the base. 20 mph label is still in place.
Correct early buff picture box has a complete paper label on the top surface and at one lid short end. Strong colours and no tears. Original owner has written his name in ink. Minor age wear. No splits.
