With a Corgi collection richly evoking the period between the late 1950?s through to the mid 1970?s, this large European Collection has been lovingly compiled by an enthusiast with particular emphasis on point of sale, including original cabinets and literature, prototypes, promotional items, alongside a high quality collection of individual models and Gift Sets.
A sought-after and scarce Gift Set issued between 1966-68, this exciting and colourful set comprises:
1) Corgi 1138 Ford Car Transporter in red, blue & silver.
Very near mint plus with barely a mark. Straight horns on the roof. Both wing mirrors are intact and complete with the little mirror pieces too. 4 plastic chocks.
2) Corgi 226 Morris Mini Minor in pale lilac blue with a red interior. Very, very near mint.
3) Corgi 249 Morris Mini Cooper in red & black with ‘wickerwork’ side detail. Very, very near mint.
3) Corgi 251 Hillman Imp in bronze. Scarce colour version. Excellent plus (suspension is a little ’soft on one wheel). Marks mostly at bonnet front edge.
4) Corgi 252 Rover 2000 in light metallic blue. Very, very near mint. Suspension.
5) Corgi 321 Austin Mini-Cooper in red with roof signatures of Timo Makinen and Paul Easter. Near mint plus. All four jewelled lights. Suspension on bright spun wheels. Little nick to front and rear transfers.
6) Corgi 440 Ford Cortina Estate in metallic blue. Very, very near mint.
All contents are housed in a polystyrene tray which is complete if rather grubby now. Corgi dog label.
The eye-catching card lid has bright graphics on intact, sturdy card.
No tears or graffiti. Minor age wear and a small light surface scratch.
