C1137
Corgi 1137 Ford Tilt Cab 'H' with Detachable Trailer "Express Service". Cast wheels issue. Very near mint/boxed. With mechanic and card packing sleeve. From a most knowledgeable and enthusiastic collector in South London.
Notes
Issued between 1966-69, this Ford articulated truck is a delight! In virtually mint condition, this truck just gleams! Complete with both wing mirrors intact (including the little reflective ‘mirror’ pieces), straight horns on the cab roof, and perfect “EXPRESS SERVICE” detailing on both sides of the bright silver, untarnished sliding doors. So eye-catching and it comes complete with the original mechanic figure, too.
This cast wheel variation is more often found win the later card and cellophane box.
If you insist in faulting it and peer at it uncharitably, you will note a couple of light rubs to the silver finish on the trailer and a couple of very minor marks besides.
General impression is this Ford Truck is in unused condition.
The bright pictorial card plinth on which the model sits has strong vivid colours, fresh and crisp. Little card ruffling to the card near the mechanic’s slot.
The pictorial end flap box is complete, very clean and bright! Discreet, repaired tear at an end flap.
Nice to see that this example comes complete with the card wrap-around piece.
