D982
Dinky 582/982 Pullmore Car Transporter (transition model) Near mint/boxed with 2 deep blue card packing pieces. Rare & Dinky 994 Loading Ramp. From The BST Collection of fine Dinky.
Notes
This is a transition issue model, renumbered from 582 to 982 during 1955. It has a light blue cab and trailer, with deeper blue wheels, fawn decks. 582 stamped on the trailer. The cab has a fine black grille and bumper with both headlights present. In all original condition.
‘DINKY TOYS DELIVERY SERVICE’ lettering on both sides and back which is all in very near perfect-perfect condition. No window glazing version. A few marks to the paint finish at some exposed edges and where metal meets metal . Note the curious small dab of green ish paint on the front of the top ramp and a small dot of the same on the cab roof. .The transition box, bearing both numbers at lid end, is complete and bright. A little rubbing/wear mostly at one corner of the lid. Shopkeeper’s penned ‘Mrs. Lasbury’ on the lid ( often shopkeeper’s would write the name of the person who had reserved the model on the lid).
A rare find with both original deep blue card packing pieces and promotional leaflet for the Loading Ramp which could be purchased separately to be used in conjunction with this model.
Note that this particular example would not have had a Loading Ramp included ( those that did would have this detail printed on the box lid and the box would be slightly bigger in order to accommodate both items.
