D514
Dinky 514 Guy Van "Weetabix". Near mint/boxed. Complete transfers and a very fine box! From The BST Collection.
Notes
One of the iconic Dinky Toys!
Certainly, it is one of the most sought-after Dinky commercial models – notoriously difficult to find in any condition. Few collections can boast a Weetabix van and even fewer in this close to mint condition. This scarce Dinky Guy Van was made for just one year – 1952. In deep yellow finish with a first type cab and grooved Supertoy wheels. A classic item from Dinky’s heyday. The distinctive transfers are complete throughout:
Just superb! Upon close scrutiny, one will see the odd little pin prick mark at raised body lines at the sides. There are a few touch-ins at the wheel arches and a couple of stray flicks of yellow paint at one side (you have to be eagle-eyed to spot them!). Small area of casting roughness on the cab roof.
Rear doors open and close well.
The item comes complete with a very fresh and strongly-coloured powder blue box with an intact paper label.
Note the orange-red colour design is slightly mis-aligned (all original of course).
Only the most minor age wear and pencilled numbering at one lid end.
