D40D
Dinky 40D Austin A40 Devon. Early issue in maroon with maroon wheels. Near mint plus/originally from a shopkeeper's trade box. From The Eric Slager Collection.
Notes
Early issue made between 1949-54, and sent to the shops in trade boxes of six.
This fine classic car has an early baseplate with raised rails and small lettering, later this model would be re-numbered 152. A gleaming maroon finish with matching wheels, original silver detailing at radiator, lights and bumpers. Correct that this early issue does not have ‘DEVON’ cast to the underside of the roof. Bright baseplate and shiny button-ended axles. Original tyres (two have a faint flat spot).
Presents so well with a fine sheen to the original paint finish.
Occasional little mark/rub to the paint finish.
