N186
Nicky/Dinky Toys 186 Mercedes-Benz 220 SE. Mid-green version. Mint/boxed. Scarce. From The Reference Collection.
Notes
Sought after models that are so difficult to find in good condition! Dinky dies were sold to the Indian Firm S. Kumar & Co. trading as Atamco. (1968-70). Often known as Indian-Dinky toys, the finish was poor in comparison.
A mint example finished in mid-green with original silver details, off-white interior, steering wheel, and intact window glazing. Silver and black plastic one-piece tyres/wheels.
Shiny black base.
The colourful correct box (ATAMCO P LTD. Calcutta) is a fine example (for this range). Colourful, crisp – and free of the usual ‘white edges’ or heavy tears that plague these comparatively flimsy boxes.
