Notes
The first we have offered for sale in along while. This particular second type issue has an intense violet blue and red finish, with lighter blue grooved ‘Supertoy’ wheels. 2nd type cab with triangular lugs next to the number plate, made between 1954-56 . Grooved wheels, and large painted hook. Rear axle held in place by cast lugs. Bolt fixing. DINKY TOYS on base.
Dated 1955 from the Dinky factory stamp inside the lid .
Barely a mark on this example – very nice indeed!
Striped DINKY TOYS box is clean and brightly-coloured, showing minimal wear. Traces of large price written in pen at one lid end and on the lid ( but very faint). Shiny staples . Very nice lower half of the box too – with such vibrant colours throughout and that includes the portion not covered by the lid. Original little card packing piece is included too.
Hard to believe this model and box is 60 years old. Carefully handled and well-stored.
