C152
Corgi (152) Trophy BRM Racing Car. Very scarce. Near mint plus/boxed, with all delicate parts intact. From The MBU Collection.
Notes
A small range of Corgi models (5 in total) were gold plated in 1961 and were sold by Marks & Spencer. Few are available and are sought-after nowadays, even if they did not sell particularly well at the time.
This BRM model is in all original condition with the distinctive mirror plated finish.
Complete with the windscreen (often missing!) A few flecks of surface loss in one small area. Occasional little mark besides.
The racing car is mounted on a black moulded base with a gold-edged name label. Also present is the piece of clear perspex which fits over the model when on the stand (notably complete with the tags which secure it into the black base).
The special Trophy box is complete and bright, if rather grubby now. BRM label at an end flap.
An interesting piece of Corgi history – and not an easy find.
