Notes
The owner tells us:
All of the models from The Smith Collection were bought by the same young boy on a weekly basis when they were released, and kept by the same collector unplayed with and in many cases never taken out of their boxes, right up until the present day. Rather unusual for a lad to buy toys and not play with them but he was a collector from a very young age!
A fine Bedford Fire Tender finished in glossy bright red. In all original condition with black ladders, undivided screen, complete transfers on both sides, bright flat spun wheels, tinplate base, silver trim, well-shaped original tyres.
Occasional little mark – but a rich, glossy ‘like new’ finish.
The pictorial box is crisp, bright and complete. Light storage wear. and a faint crease at an end flap. Lightly pencilled period price (3/6) at an end flap.
