Nicky 708
Nicky Toys 708 Vickers Viscount 800-B.E.A. Very near mint/box wear. Very scarce Indian Copy.
Notes
Sought after models that are so difficult to find in good condition! Dinky dies were sold to the Indian Firm S. Kumar & Co. trading as Atamco. (1968-70). Often known as Indian-Dinky toys, the finish was poor in comparison.
This example has just a couple of minor marks to the paint finish and a little original glue grubbiness near the labels.
On the underside, one can clearly see where the word Dinky has been altered to read ‘Nicky’! Stamped ‘Made In India’ on the underside too.
The card box is rather worn now – often the boxes are in extremely poor condition. All parts are complete, although there are some creases, small tears and a little tape repair at 2 small end flaps. Model has caused a small puncture on one side too. Box underside gives a listing of other Nicky Toys in the range.
A fascinating piece of Dinky history and well worth incorporating into your collection.
