Dinky 582
Dinky 582/982 Pullmore Car Transporter (transition model). Near mint plus/in very rare box presentation. From The Collier Row Collection.
Notes
This is a transition issue model, renumbered from 582 to 982 during 1955. The transporter has a light blue finish throughout, with fawn decks and base. 582 stamped on the trailer. “DINKY TOYS DELIVERY SERVICE” lettering on both sides and back – all in perfect condition. No window glazing version.
The cab has a little edge rubbing at side window surround and a few tiny marks besides. Complete with a fine black grille and bumper with both headlights present. Usual marks around the hinged ramp which are practically unavoidable. A nice all original example – and a familiar sight in most Dinky collections.
The transition box, however, is one of the most unusual box presentations for any Dinky commercial model. Many collectors will be unfamiliar with this plain, deep blue, lift-off lid box with the Dinky label at one end:
The box has excellent strong colours and there are no splits. Paper label is virtually complete (tiny edge nick). Light wear only.
Shiny staples.
An excellent find – when will you see another?
