Notes
Issued by Corgi during late 1968 – early 1969, this is a most sought-after Gift Set, especially with 2 rare models included.
In detail, this set comprises:
1) Corgi 1148 Scammell Car Transporter in complete and original near mint plus condition. Few little surface marks on the roof and 2 dabs of stray factory grey paint.
2) Corgi 345 MGC GT. A difficult find in bright orange ( with correct suitcase). Spoked wheels. Virtually mint.
3) Corgi 328 Sunbeam Imp. Very near mint with intact suspension.
4) Corgi 258 The Saint’s Volvo. The first we have ever offered for sale with the early ‘Matchstick’ Logo and cast wheels. Virtually mint (stray dot of factory silver). We know of just a handful of these in substantial, long-standing Corgi collections.
5) Corgi 249 ‘Wickerwork’ Mini. With cast wheels. Very near mint.
6) Corgi 339 Monte Carlo Mini with roof rack. Cast wheels. Very near mint.
7) Corgi 226 Morris Mini Minor, in maroon, with cast wheels. Very near mint.
All contents are housed in a complete and bright polystyrene inner. Lightest wear only.
This set comes with the Instruction Leaflet for the 1967 Monte Carlo Sunbeam Imp, unapplied racing numbers & sealed packet of traffic cones. Corgi Club Membership Form, too.
The colourfully illustrated outer box is vibrant, clean and complete. The original cellophane window is intact. Note the ‘New Specification’ Label ( complete) which marks the move from the Ford Transporter issue to this new Scammell version.
The card has light wear including a few small light scuffs and corner ruffles. Couple of tiny corner tears.
