Corgi Gift Set
Corgi Gift Set 30 Grand Prix Set. With Surtees in red. Assumed mint. Beneath cellophane sleeve. Scarce item from The Old School Collection. Purchased at the Chicago toy fair by the owner.
Notes
Issued for just one year (1973). This colourfully illustrated card contains boxed kit
versions:
Corgi 1500 Surtees T.S.9, 1501 Yardley McLaren M19A, 1504 John Player Special Lotus. Also included is the Surtees in red.
Items are expected to be complete and with all accessories. Cellophane sleeve protects the contents. The owner tells us:
“I bought this version with two more – all identical in Chicago at the toyfair.
It does not have The Norris and it is not shrink wrapped. The perspex sleeve, I believe, is original and maybe it was made for export US market only.”
Couple of stress tears to the card. Day-one colour vibrancy to the card and a evocative vivid scene on box reverse:
