Corgi Gift Set 28

Notes

This would have been a special treat indeed for some lucky little boy circa 1963!
It comprises:

1) 1105 Bedford TK Transporter is in near mint condition.
Both wing mirrors are present and 1 is complete with the little reflective ‘mirror’ piece (often both are missing!). Metal parts are bright. Corgi Dog transfer is complete at the rear. Small nick to the lettering on one side.A few minor marks at some exposed edges or where metal glides against metal (hinged ramp at rear).

2)Corgi 228 Volvo in scarlet. Marking at bumpers and one side of the model mostly.Bright and complete box has a crisp feel.

3)Corgi 229 Chevrolet Corvair. Mid-blue finish, pale lemon interior. Shaped spun wheels. Excellent (only) with sprinkling of little chips, but bright, fresh, clean and crisp box (crease).

4) Corgi 239 Volkswagen 1500 Karmann Ghia in scarlet is in excellent condition (only) with some chipping but a crisp, very clean and vivid box.

5) Corgi 252 Rover. Very near mint. Another very fresh box!

It is worth noting that although some of the models may have some play/handling wear but the uniform condition and crispness of their individual boxes leads us to believe that these models are original to this set and not a later made-up example. Corgi would select 4 ( almost random) models to be included with the Gift Set to accompany the Transporter.

Complete with two original ‘Dummy’ boxes. Versions without end flaps. Clean, fresh and crisp.

With Leaflet, too.

Card insert is fresh and bright. Minimal wear from being in contact with the models.

The attractive pictorial card box is complete and vividly-coloured.

Light wear includes a very small start of a seam tear to the lid. Nearly always found with much heavier wear than this.
