Corgi 497
Corgi 497 The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Thrushbuster. Very near mint/boxed. Dark blue issue with Waverley ring. Plastic spotlights issue. All 3 card packing pieces included. Never folded Corgi Club Membership Form.
Notes
Issued between 1966-69, this Oldsmobile car has a gleaming, deep purple-blue finish, complete bonnet logo (minor age transparency), bright chrome parts, detailed cast wheels. Fine original tyres. If you press the roof periscope the figure moves from side to side to shoot the enemy! This is the version with plastic chromed spotlights (to dazzle the enemy!).
Minor age transparency to the bonnet label (as is so often the case), a little side rub and a mark at the front bumper.
So often lost or replaced with a copy, this Thrushbuster comes with its original Waverley ring. Changing image on the ring face of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin.
The clean and fresh-looking card plinth looks shop-fresh with vibrant colours on clean, intact, rarely handled card.
Lots of info about the U.N.C.L.E organisation on box reverse as well as pictures and signatures of the T.V. series protagonists.
The outer box is bright and complete, looking very fresh with scarcely any wear. Silky feel to the card. Note the small fleck of surface loss at an end flap. Very minor wear besides.
Includes both card rings which fit over the roof button and the card wrap-around packing piece too. Never folded Corgi Club Membership Form.
