Corgi 499
Corgi 499 Citroen Safari 1968 Winter Olympics "Grenoble". Very near mint/boxed. Scarce version with FORMED EDGES to the card plinth ends i.e. not serrated. With Skier & Tobogganist.
Notes
The most difficult to find of the three Citroen Winter Sports vehicles made by Corgi.
This white and blue Citroen is in all original condition with a beautifully detailed “Grenoble” transfer on the bonnet (little front side edge ‘lift’). All delicate roof parts are complete and intact ~(even the original elastic band is still present, although not in one piece now). Ski-ing and figure on sled are still present.
Shaped spun wheels with suspension. The opening tailgate reveals where the skier and tobogganist can be stowed away safely in the back of the car (the rear seats may be folded down).
Hard to find a mark to the paint finish. Few specks of red residue from prolonged contact with the inner on one side (may be possible to remove).
The colourful cellophane-fronted header card box is complete, fresh and bright. Note the large header card stands up straight (so often found floppy). Couple of tiny tears. Original cellophane window has a couple of pinpoint punctures.
Card inner is intact and bright. Scarce version with FORMED EDGES to the card plinth ends i.e. not serrated. Instructions are printed on internal end flaps. Corgi Club Membership Form.
A very attractive example of this popular Corgi Olympic-inspired Citroen.
