Notes
Acknowledged in ‘The Great Book Of Dinky Toys’, this collector in the U.S. brings his 37 year collection to QDT. Included are some very rare items and a wealth of period literature and catalogues.
This is a scarce version of the handsome Buick model finished in deep sky blue with a midnight blue roof. This is a second issue example with shiny convex wheels and cross-hatching on the inside of the roof (1956-59). Well-shaped white tyres. Shiny baseplate.
Mere dot on the roof and tiny marking besides.
The box is complete with excellent strong colours and quite a crisp feel. Internal end flap tear and light age/handling wear.
Trade Carton is included – originally this carton would have held 6. Note the factory blue colour stamp on one end to denote colour of contents. Light wear including a couple of little tears.
Original period French Dinky ‘Pocket’ Catalogue from 1955. 16 pages including covers.
