Notes
Acknowledged in ‘The Great Book Of Dinky Toys’, this collector in the U.S. brings his 37 year collection to QDT. Included are some very rare items and a wealth of period literature and catalogues.
Issued between 1955-57, this is a striking Dinky Tanker with a fine and vibrant original paint finish throughout with intact ladder, bright baseplate and spare wheel.
‘REGENT’ letters are complete on both sides. Makes a lovely display piece – and worth noting this item has no retouching.
A few minor marks to the white stripe on both sides (always vulnerable to marking).
Rear transfer is bright, fresh and notably complete.
Obviously handled only occasionally. 20 mph label is still in place too at a rear wheel arch. Couple of little wheel arch chips and tiny marking on one side of the roof.
The striped Supertoys box is clean and complete with bright colours throughout and that includes the portion of the deep blue base not covered by the lid. ’LF (lead free) label in place too. Light wear. Card packing piece included.
Dated April 1957 from the Dinky stamp inside the box lid.
