French Dinky 25P
French Dinky 25P Studebaker Pick-Up. Red & Yellow 2nd issue & French Dinky 25S Single Axle Trailer. Very near mint/not individually boxed. From The Phillips Collection.
Notes
Acknowledged in ‘The Great Book Of Dinky Toys’, this collector in the U.S. brings his 37 year collection to QDT. Included are some very rare items and a wealth of period literature and catalogues.
The owner tells us:
“These models, I believe, were originally purchased from Jean-Michel Roulet, author of ‘Histoire Des Dinky Toys Français’ (1978) & ‘Les Dinky Toys et Dinky Supertoys Français’ (1984).
This colourful Studebaker Truck is in brightest red and yellow finish and was issued between 1950-55.
In very close to mint condition with a wonderful original sheen, showing careful handling and storage.
Correct ‘M’ for Meccano stamped tyres are well-shaped. Metal parts are bright and fresh.
Couple of minor marks only.
Exceptional, fine example.
Single Axle Trailer is in very close to mint condition in vivid yellow with matching wheels. Shiny black tinplate chassis. Close scrutiny finds a small casting flaw at a wheel arch (minor). Tiny mark or two to the paint finish.
Both items would have been originally sold out of a shopkeeper’s Trade box.
