Corgi Gift Set 1B

Notes

Issued between 1959-62, this scarce set comprises:

1) 1101 Bedford ‘S’ Carrimore Car Transporter, red cab, with mid-blue & very pale blue back, with shaped spun wheels, in very near mint condition. Exposed edge mark toward the rear and the occasional little mark/contact mark besides. Complete lettering at the sides. Complete Corgi Dog logo at the rear. Note the original label still attached at the rear (rare to find with this label).

2) 216 Austin A40 Saloon. Very near mint (couple of negligible marks, maybe as-made). Extremly fine outer box.

3) 226 Morris Mini Minor in light bright blue with red interior, shaped spun wheels. Very, very near mint. Another virtually as-new outer box.

4) 234 Consul Classic. Very near mint/boxed. Couple of little heavier drips of factory silver on one side of the front bumper (as-made). Mere pinprick or two to the paint. Super outer box! Corgi Cub Membership Form.

5) 305 Triumph TR3 Sports in olive green with red seats and flat spun wheels. Mint (couple of stray smudges of factory silver on one side, as-made) boxed. Light crease to the box and a tiny tear. Still a super example! Corgi Club Memberhsip Form.

Note that these models are obviously the originals from this set (i.e. not a later made-up set).

The colourfully illustrated lift-off lid box has not fared so well. Area of surface loss, seam splits nearby and corner scuffing. Two small punctures have pressed back into place.

Orange box base has fared much better with light shelf grubbiness on the underside only.

Includes the original white card insert which houses the individual items (puncture caused by the transporter) and also includes 2 bright, clean and fresh ‘Dummy Boxes’ with the Corgi Dog decoration.
