Corgi 801
Corgi 801 Noddy, Big Ears and Golly (grey-faced) Car. Very near mint/boxed. From The Pennsylvanian Collection.
Notes
Issued during 1969 with a black-faced Golly, this is the second issue where the colour was changed to a lighter grey colour, in response to racial concerns. Later still, the Golly would have a pink or light tan face and then eventually be replaced with the uncontroversial Mr. Tubby!
This example is in very close to mint condition. A most attractive item, with all three figures of Noddy, Big Ears and Golly crammed into a bright red and yellow ‘cartoon’ car with balloon tyres! Detailed spoked cast wheels.
Paintwork is vivid and in tip-top condition. Little chrome rub.
Bright card inner.
Window box is dated 1969 on the reverse. Original cellophane has a couple of punctures caused by Big Ears’ hat! Couple of little stains to the card and light wear. Corgi Club Membership Form.
