Corgi 216
Corgi 216 Austin A40. Very near mint/boxed. Scarce red and black NON-MECHANICAL issue with flat spun wheels. From The Pennsylvanian Collection. QDT starting bid £200. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
Issued between 1959-62, this Austin car has a vibrant original red and black finish finish, and flat spun wheels.
A rare find in red and black. When the 216M models were discontinued in 1959, some left-over painted body shells were fitted with standard 216 bases, put in standard 216 boxes and sold abroad.
None of the usual chipping or rubbing on the roof. Bright baseplate. Original tyres look as-new.
Closest inspection finds a small retouch.
The box is complete and bright with a crisp feel. Light wear.
A difficult find.
