Mettoy(Corgi) Castoys 869
Mettoy Castoys 869 BOAC Van. Very near mint/boxed. Scarce early model from The Lewes Collection.
Notes
‘A First for QDT’. This is an early Mettoy Company diecast model, produced at the request of Marks & Spencer back in the day for a ‘sturdy’, long-lasting toy. This surely fits the bill! Castoys were produced between 1948-59, with this model in particular in production 1956-58.
1:35 scale.
Sleek glossy Royal Blue finish on this BOAC Van, with silver trim, shiny wheels and well-shaped original tyres. Shiny silver base too.
Clear and complete BOAC lettering and logo on both sides. ‘FLY BY BOAC’ on the roof. Opening rear door.
Colourful card box is complete, although showing a little age/handling wear now. Remains of old tape at ends.
