Dinky 40J
Dinky 40J Austin Somerset Saloon. Rare DEEP BLUE issue in the scarce 40J box (not dual-numbered). Near mint plus/boxed, with correct colour spot. From The West Midlands Collection. Starting bid £200. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
Rare to come to the market place, this Austin Somerset model is finished in a distinctive deep blue with lighter blue ridged wheels, smooth tyres (couple of light flat spots).
Fine original silver detailing at radiator, bumpers and headlights.
Shiny base. ‘Austin Somerset’ cast on the underside of the roof.
A few tiny marks only.
The harder to find early box bears both the old numbering 40J and not the later numbering 161 (the change-over occurring in 1954). Correct colour spot at the end flaps. A little handling wear including the tiniest start of a tear. Period price at an end flap.
A very difficult colour variation to find.
