Notes
A sensational find! We surmise an early colour trial or one of a very small run. Later, this model was issued in similar shades with a second issue casting, i.e. one-piece screen, shaped spun wheels and a ridged roof.
The owner tells us:
“One of the earliest models I bought probably around thirty years ago. I recall it was a from a collector here in the U.S. I was buying his father’s collection at the time”.
Early casting and uniquely finished with a palest lemon lower half and light soft blue upper. First issue casting so an undivided windscreen, a smooth roof and flat spun wheels. Early style radiator. Pleasing sheen and a shiny baseplate. Well-shaped tyres with a fine tread.
In virtually mint condition! Few little tarnished spots on the base.
The complete and bright early blue card box shows some age and handling wear, although there are no tears
