Nicky (Dinky) 186 Mercedes 220 SE
Mercedes-Benz 220 SE by Nicky/Dinky Toys, No. 186. Scarce SILVER version. Very near mint/boxed. From The Berlin Collection. Starting bid £200. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
Sought after models that are so difficult to find in good condition! Dinky dies were sold to the Indian Firm S. Kumar & Co. trading as Atamco. (1968-70). Often known as Indian-Dinky toys, the finish was poor in comparison.
A very close to mint example finished in silver with off-white interior, black steering wheel, and intact window glazing. Silver and black plastic one-piece tyres/wheels.
A difficult find:
Black base has tarnished speckling now. Little nick to the chrome bumper finish.
The colourful correct box (ATAMCO P LTD. Calcutta) is a pretty impressive example ( by Nicky standards). Only the most minor wear – and even the little viewport push-out section on one side is complete.
