Dinky Toys 261 Ford Taunus 'POLIZEI'
Ford Taunus 'POLIZEI' by Dinky Toys, No. 261. Rare German promotional issue. Very near mint/boxed, with card packing ring. Scarce model from a 25 Year Collection in California.
Notes
This Taunus model was made for export to the German market only between 1967-68.
This very close to mint example has a white and deepest green finish with ‘POLIZEI’ labels on both doors and boot. Light blue roof light. Straight original aerial. Shiny wheels with white surround. Brightest unrubbed chrome at bumpers and fresh, complete number plates, front and rear.
Obviously barely handled. Minor chrome loss to aerial and tiniest nick to the boot lettering. A little ‘orange peel’ texture to the white finish. Fixed to a bright and fresh-looking plastic and card ‘Roadway’ base*.
Perspex top has the black Dinky Toys label which gives information about the real car (interestingly the Ford Taunus achieves a maximum speed of 84 m.p.h.). Largely unmarked (so often these perspex tops are found heavily scratched or split). With card packing ring.
