French Dinky Toys 533 Mercedes-Benz Coupe 300 SE with Trade Box
Mercedes-Benz Coupe 300 SE by French Dinky Toys, No. 533. With OFF-WHITE interior. Very near mint/boxed. With TRADE BOX. From The Reference Collection.
Notes
Issued between 1963-70 in various colour finishes, this being probably the most attractive, in a distinctive metallic mid-blue, detailed off-white interior, shiny plated concave wheels. Intact bonnet emblem.
Shiny base generally (one small tarnished area).
Faint roof rub (due to box contact) and a couple of tiny marks to the paint.
The colourful pictorial card outer box is clean and bright. Small fleck of surface loss at an end flap.
Originally, this model (along with another 5 examples) would have been sent to the Retailer in this style of outer box. Once unpacked by the shopkeeper, these Trade Boxes were usually discarded of course.
This plain buff ‘Trade Box’ has the correct colour spot to denote blue shade of models enclosed. Originally, this Trade Box would have held 6 examples. Small end flap tear and a little storage crumpling.
