Notes
It is always thrilling to find South African Dinky models! They are so difficult to come by, especially in authentic condition and in the correct box. The model colours are always unusual and markedly different from the standard U.K issues too.
This Rambler model is finished in pale lilac with a vivid red detailed interior, cream steering wheel, shiny spun wheels, clean, smooth-running original, white treaded tyres.
In stunning, all original condition with all delicate parts intact and bright chrome headlights and bumpers. A couple of tiny marks away from mint.
The correct South African box is an especially difficult find. This example is worn and lacks most of its end flaps but importantly it has the correct Afrikaans printed on the box on one face and the tiny print Arthur E. Harris (sole distributor), Printed in South Africa on the box underside.
Original period price on the box underside.
