Notes
Certainly one of the most sought-after Dinky commercial models and notoriously difficult to find in any condition.
This scarce Dinky Guy Van was made for just one year – 1952. In brightest, deep yellow finish with a first type cab and Supertoy wheels. A classic item from Dinky’s heyday. The all-important distinctive transfers are complete at the sides. Complete ‘WEETABIX’ lettering above the cab, too.
Rear doors open and close well. Shiny metal parts for the most part. Smooth original tyres have the occasional light flat spot. Spare stowed on the underside – just for this purpose!
Occasional little mark and minute and careful scrutiny under magnification finds two tiny extra dabs of well-matched yellow paint (probably factory). So many of these high profile Dinky Advertising Trucks have retouches – this example has fared better than most.
The intact powder blue box with paper label has bright colours on well-stored card. Occasional small edge scuff and light wear. Rusty staples.
Typically, one of the the final items to be added to a Dinky commercial collection. Always guaranteed to be a key item in any Dinky collection – its fame always going before it!
