Dinky Toys 917 Guy Van 'SPRATTS'
Guy Van "SPRATTS" by Dinky Toys, No. 917. Very near mint/boxed (dual-numbered). Dated 1955. From The Reference Collection of fine Dinky Toys.
Notes
Issued between 1954-56 this is one of the most memorable advertising vans from Dinky’s heyday. This is the more unusual dual-numbered transitional issue when the model changed from 514 to 917. Complete eye-catching transfers on both sides with the letters forming the shape of a dog. Supertoy wheels.
An eye-catching display piece with strong colours throughout (i.e. no sunfading).
Smooth original black tyres are well-shaped save for one which has a light flat spot (spare stowed on the underside).
Occasional little mark and under most exacting scrutiny a few small retouches may be found.
The dual-numbered striped DINKY TOYS box is complete, bright and clean. Light wear only. Dinky stamp inside the nox lid dates this particular example February, 1955.
