Notes
This collection represents a lifelong deep appreciation of Dinky Toys, Britains models, Minic models and more primarily from the 1940’s & 50’s. All British made diecast and tinplate models. Proceeds going to charities close to his heart.
This type 3 version of the Petrol Tank Wagon in orange and black was issued between 1946-47 and would have been sent to the shopkeeper in trade boxes, so not individually boxed.
This example has fared very well indeed – presenting nicely with a vivid and shining deep orange paint finish and complete and unmarked ‘PETROL’ lettering on both sides. Sound original tyres on black ridged wheels. Well-shaped save for one which has a very light flat spot. Complete with an intact radiator and headlight assembly.
20 mph label is still present at the rear.
Type 3 baseplate.
A rare find.
Barely a mark to the paint finish although close scrutiny finds a couple of little touch-ins.
A rare addition to your Dinky commercial collection.
