Dinky Toys 30D Vauxhall
Vauxhall by Dinky Toys, No. 30D. Scarce 1946 issue in rich elm green & black, type 3 chassis, smooth black wheels. Near mint/never boxed individually. From The Denis Tyler Collection. Starting bid £100. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
Issued during 1946, this car has a distinctive rich elm green finish (lighter than the deep green version) with a black chassis. Intact and complete radiator, headlight and bumper assembly. Distinctive ‘shield’ radiator. Black smooth hubs. Type 3 chassis. Pleasing lustre and smooth running tyres. Bright axle ends. Very attractive with a shining paint finish, and not an easy variation to find.
Occasional tiny mark as you might expect, and close scrutiny finds a few small touch-ins. Still presents well with a fine lustre.
At the time, this model would have been supplied to the shops in trade boxes of six.
