Notes
This collection represents a lifelong deep appreciation of Dinky Toys, Britains models, Minic models and more primarily from the 1940’s & 50’s. All British made diecast and tinplate models. Proceeds going to charities close to his heart.
A cache of 6 Dinky 36G Taxi models housed in the original Dinky shopkeeper’s Trade Box as follows:
1) Earliest issue in green and black with smooth black wheels and open rear window. Near mint plus original condition. Well-shaped smooth white tyres. Silver trim.
2) As above but ridged cast wheels and smooth black tyres (well-shaped). Near mint plus original condition.
3) In deep maroon and black with smooth black wheels and open rear window. Very near mint original condition. Well-shaped smooth white tyres. Silver trim.
4) Green and black version with ridged black wheels and open rear window. Very near mint original condition. Well-shaped smooth white tyres (light flat spot to one). Silver trim.
5) As above but smooth black tyres. Few little retouches. Near mint plus.
6) Red and black version with ridged black wheels and closed rear window. Well-shaped black treaded tyres. Few little retouches. Near mint plus.
All examples are complete with cast in driver, and ‘TAXI’ sign on the roof, picked out in silver.
The outer buff card Trade Box is sturdy and tear-free. Bright paper label at a lid end and there is a period price pencilled. Lightly penned writing on the lid. No dividers.
